Galaxy Fitness is a full service health club located right in the heart of Phelan.  The next closest health club is nearly 20 miles away.  Opening at 5 AM weekdays and staying open until 8 PM, it can provide a full range of exercises to get you back into shape.  Week-end hours are Sat:  6 AM to 3 PM and Sun: 7 AM to 1 PM. The new discount was approved by vote of the membership on May 1, 2011.  The initiation fee is $50 and the monthly dues are $15.  The one year contract is renewable.  This is half the usual initiation fee and a very low price per month.  It is only 50 cents a day and includes all services including group classes.  There is an annual “contract maintenance fee” due in June of each year.  Last year it was $20.  Galaxy Fitness will occasionally offer lower monthly dues specials but the initiation fees are usually much higher.  This member only special is available to VFW members only and you MUST display your membership card to get the special discount. There are a great many national chain stores that offer great discounts for veterans.  Your VFW Post is working to add additional local vendors that will provide special discounts for its membership.
